In 2019, at the age of 19, he moved from Benfica Lisbon to Atlético Madrid for 127 million euros. In 2024, Chelsea paid 52 million euros.
Félix rarely lived up to the high expectations. He was repeatedly loaned out, including to FC Barcelona and in the second half of last season to AC Milan. Outside of Portugal, he never scored more than ten goals in a season at any station.
In the list of the most expensive transfers, his move to Atlético is still in fifth place. Only Neymar (for 222 million to Paris Saint-Germain), Kylian Mbappé (180 million, PSG), Philippe Coutinho (135 million, FC Barcelona) and Ousmane Dembélé (135 million, Barcelona) were more expensive.
