Weg companions Neuner and Neureuther mourn Dahlmeier

After the tragic death of Laura Dahlmeier, the Chancellor pronounces his sympathy.

Laura Dahlmeier’s death shakes the sports world. Close companions like ex-biathlete Magdalena Neuner and ski star Felix Neureuther express themselves emotionally.

Laura Dahlmeier died in a mountain accident in Pakistan. The former German biathlete was 31 years old.

After the confirmation of the tragic accident, several close companions have spoken out and expressed their condolences. Germany’s former world-class biathlete Magdalena Neuner expressed moving words.

“She was a great role model in that she lived her life and was not influenced by other people at all,” Neuner told the German Press Agency: “She was a pioneer for me in that respect. The fact that she always followed her passion – few have managed that like Laura.”

Neuner, who knew Dahlmeier personally for an “extremely long time,” was hit hard by the news of the 31-year-old’s death. “Laura and I have a long history together, we already trained together as children. We have known each other for an extremely long time, but we haven’t seen each other so often in the past. But when we did see each other, we were always very happy.”

Neuner regrets that she had not met with Dahlmeier in the recent past “extremely.” The 38-year-old continued: “You shouldn’t put such things off for too long, especially with people you like, with whom you want to meet.”

Moving words from Felix and Miriam Neureuther

The former German winter sports duo Felix and Miriam Neureuther also spoke out emotionally after the tragic accident.

Felix Neureuther shared a black and white picture of Dahlmeier in his Instagram story and wrote a short message. “Speechless and deeply saddened. Rest in peace, dear Laura,” wrote the former German Alpine star.

The 41-year-old had known Dahlmeier for many years. Both grew up in Garmisch-Partenkirchen.

His wife Miriam, also a former biathlete like Neuner and Dahlmeier, also wrote moving words.

“Dear Laura, it is impossible to put into words how shocked I am by the news of your death! From the baby bird in kindergarten to our Skiclub-Garmisch time and then all the years together in our sport. I will keep these memories in my heart forever! You were an exceptional athlete, which there will certainly not be a second time in this world! But above all as a person Laura, we will all miss you very much! I wish you so much that you are doing well where you are now! Dear Laura, we will all never forget you,” Neureuther wrote on Instagram.
