BBL: Bonn fulfills license requirements

Prominent newcomer makes 1860 coach enthusiastic

The preliminary schedule will be published next week.

Telekom Baskets Bonn have fulfilled the license requirements for the 2025/26 season in the Basketball Bundesliga (BBL). As the BBL announced on Friday, Bonn, whose admission in June was only granted with conditions, have “provided all required evidence on time and in full.”

15 other teams had received the license without restrictions. At the end of May, the two sporting promoted teams Science City Jena and VET-Concept Gladiators Trier had already received the license. This means that after a year with only 17 teams, the league will return to the target size of 18 teams. In the previous season, the second division champion PS Karlsruhe Lions had waived promotion because the club had not submitted any license documents.

For the coming season, which begins on September 26, the minimum budget is four million euros for the first time. The preliminary schedule will be published next Monday.
