“He is a bit like our lamine yamal”

The Belgian Matthias Vethht mourns the time of his one year old son, who died after a viral infection.

Bremer, a defender for Juventus Turin, has praised former Bayern talent Kenan Yildiz in the highest terms.

“Kenan is a bit like our Lamine Yamal. We all in the team must give him the opportunity to develop in the best possible way,” said the 28-year-old in an interview with the Italian daily newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

In addition, he agreed with ex-professional Júlio César, who had claimed that Yildiz’s style of play would suit the Brazilian national team.

“He is right, Yildiz’s dribbling and movements are those of a Brazilian player,” added Bremer. Yildiz recently excelled at the Club World Cup, scoring five points in four games.

The 20-year-old was born in Regensburg as the son of a Turkish father and a German mother and played for FC Bayern from 2012 to 2022 before moving to Italy.

In Turin, Yildiz is now supposed to help lead the club back to its former successes. The Bianconeri finished only fourth in Serie A last season behind SSC Napoli, Inter Milan and Atalanta Bergamo.

“Yildiz is a different player”

For the coming season, however, Bremer sees his colors back in the title race. “It will be a fight between the usual four: Napoli goes into the race as favorites because they won the last championship and have strengthened themselves on the transfer market. Inter remains a very good team. Then there’s Milan with Allegri, for whom only the championship counts,” he said: “And of course there is Juventus.”

Why is Bremer so optimistic? Not least because of Yildiz. “I am convinced that we will quickly return to the top. We all think that and I’ll tell you why: Yildiz is a different player than last year. He has improved a lot,” raved the defender.
