It is the first professional station for the Center/Power Forward from Houston.
Basketball Bundesliga club Alba Berlin has signed the American J’wan Roberts. The 23-year-old Center/Power Forward comes to the capital after completing his college at the University of Houston. He signs a contract by the end of the 2025/26 season.
The 2.03 meter tall Roberts stood in the NCAA final with the Houston Cougars last season, which his team narrowly lost to the Florida Gators. For his team, he scored an average of 10.6 points and 6.5 rebounds and was awarded one of the best players and defenders of the BIG-12-Conference.
Alba sports director Himar Ojeda said: “We are very convinced of J’wan’s basketball skills. He plays a lot of energy and leaves everything in the field. He fights for every rebound and gives everything in defense. On the offensive, he is very team-oriented. It fits perfectly into our newly compiled team.”
Roberts most recently played in Summer League for Utah Jazz. Alba is his first professional station.
