German basketball star Dennis Schröder suffered a defeat in his debut for the Sacramento Kings in the NBA preseason.

In the home game against the Toronto Raptors, Schröder’s new team scored 122:130; the captain of the German world and European champions played his first game since winning the European Championship final against Turkey on September 14th.

When he made his debut for his tenth NBA team, Schröder (32) was in the starting lineup. In 24 minutes, the Braunschweig native hit one of his five shots and ultimately came up short with five points and six rebounds. The best scorer of the game was Toronto’s newcomer Brandon Ingram with 21 points.

Schröder, who met one of his many former teams with the Raptors, starts the NBA season with Sacramento on October 23rd at the Phoenix Suns. Before that, duels with the Portland Trail Blazers as well as the Los Angeles Clippers and Lakers are on the agenda in preparation.
