On Saturday evening, the two semifinal matches are on the program. Whoever wins in the “Best of 9 Sets” mode will be in the final on Sunday.
Does world champion Luke Littler also celebrate in the semifinal of the World Grand Prix?
The opening match is the duel between Englishman Luke Humphries and Danny Noppert from the Netherlands. Of the last five encounters, Noppert only won one – that was in April 2024, so it’s already a year and a half ago.
The second semifinal is played afterwards by world champion Luke Littler and Welshman Jonny Clayton. This duel has only happened four times, with Littler prevailing in all but one instance. Clayton’s one victory dates from last February.
In the semifinal, “Best of 9 sets” applies, before up to eleven sets can be played in the final.
The special feature of the World Grand Prix is that according to the “Double-In/Double Out” mode, players must not only finish each leg with a double, but also start with a double. Only after a double at the beginning do the scores count.
