Ski superstar Lindsey Vonn breaks off training camp – “To see my Leo”

Lindsey Vonn was in Chile preparing for the Olympic season

Lindsey Vonn is preparing for the Olympic season. However, her training camp in Chile ended earlier than planned for a specific reason.

As part of her preparation for the Olympic season, Lindsey Vonn recently completed a training camp in Chile with her coach Aksel Lund Svindal – but she had to end it earlier than originally planned. The ski superstar revealed the reason for this on Instagram.

On the platform, Vonn posted a series of pictures from training in the snow and initially wrote: “Thank you for a great summer preparation to everyone who helped make it happen, including Mother Nature.”

She explained: “Unfortunately, I had to go home a day earlier to see my Leo… my boy is getting old, but still holding on. His strength gives me strength. We’ll make it.”

Vonn’s dog suffers from cancer

Leo is Vonn’s dog. Last year, the 40-year-old announced that the four-legged friend has cancer. He subsequently underwent chemotherapy treatment. In addition to Leo, Vonn also has a female dog.

The experienced ski racer is facing her first full season since her comeback in December 2024.

In February, the season highlight will be the 2026 Olympic Games in Milan and Cortina d’Ampezzo, where Vonn naturally wants to compete.
