Real Madrid wins its first Clásico after four consecutive defeats. Kylian Mbappé and Jude Bellingham stood out. Barcelona plays without Hansi Flick’s assistance.
Real Madrid celebrated a liberating victory in the glorious Spanish Clásico.
The Royals defeated FC Barcelona 2-1 in the league on Saturday evening and won a Clásico for the first time since April 2024 after four defeats from the previous season.
Kylian Mbappé (22nd minute) and Jude Bellingham (43rd minute) scored the goals for Real. Fermín López equalized in between (38th minute).
Mbappé misses penalty
Mbappé missed a penalty in the second half (52nd minute). A supposed goal before halftime was disallowed due to an offside position.
Barcelona had to play without head coach Hansi Flick, who was condemned to watching due to a suspension from last weekend.
The Catalans remained pale for large parts of the game, and superstar Lamine Yamal also failed to ignite. Other offensive players like Raphinha and Robert Lewandowski were missing.
In stoppage time, Pedri received a yellow-red card (90+10), after which both sides clashed, leading to tumultuous scenes.
Real had lost both league games against Barcelona last season, as well as the Super Cup and the Cup.
