Premier League: all-round blow! Expert criticizes Liverpool stars

Milos Kerkez is in crisis with Liverpool FC

Liverpool FC is currently in a crisis. TV expert Gary Neville is calling for changes – specifically, he believes one player should be benched in the future.

Liverpool FC recently lost their fourth consecutive league match against Brentford (2:3) – increasing pressure on the Reds. Former Premier League star Gary Neville has now made strong statements about the players of the reigning English champions.

The TV expert specifically singled out left-back Milos Kerkez in his own The Gary Neville Podcast : “The left-back Kerkez did score a goal, but when you watch him, I believe he needs to be benched.”

Neville: “The virus is spreading”

The summer signing, whom Liverpool FC brought from Bournemouth to Anfield Road for a hefty 47 million euros, started in all four league defeats. Although the Hungarian collected his first scoring point of the season in the 2:3 loss to Brentford, he failed to distinguish himself in terms of performance.

However, the former United star Neville didn’t limit his criticism to the Hungarian international: “At the start of the season, I felt their fullbacks weren’t functioning properly, and maybe Konaté wasn’t always in top form either, but Van Dijk held them together, and Alisson was in goal – you have two world-class players there. But the virus is spreading.”

Former Bayer Star Also Under Criticism

Former Leverkusen player Jeremie Frimpong also came under scrutiny from the 50-year-old: “I’m worried about the right-back. Frimpong is not a right-back. Conor Bradley is getting his chance, and I think that’s good because I believe he has a lot of talent, but it’s difficult when your team is conceding goals and the pressure is high.”

Ultimately, his conclusion was: “I wonder if it’s time for Arne Slot to simplify things. If he continues to field Kerkez and Bradley and they remain so exposed in midfield, they will continue to get the same results or decide a game in the wrong direction when it’s on the edge of whether they will win or lose.”

Neville Criticizes Kerkez Repeatedly

TV expert Neville had already strongly criticized Kerkez after the 1:2 defeat against Chelsea in early October: “The boy looks, to be honest, like a youth player right now. I know he’s a good player, but he seems like he’s playing for the youth team or the U21s. He seems so naive, he seems like a baby out there.”

The reigning English champion dropped from first to seventh place in the table after four defeats against Crystal Palace (1:2), Chelsea (1:2), Manchester United (1:2), and Brentford (2:3).
