New coach official: Spalletti takes over Juventus

Former Italian national coach Luciano Spalletti takes over Juventus Turin. Spalletti (66) succeeds Igor Tudor, who was dismissed on Monday, and receives a contract with the record champion until the end of the season.

“We are very pleased to welcome such a competent and experienced personality to the Juventus family,” the club announced on Thursday evening.

Juve had ended a negative series of almost seven weeks with eight games without a win the previous day with a 3:1 (1:1) victory over Udinese Calcio. The Old Lady is currently only seventh in the Serie A table.

The former Juve professional Tudor had to leave after four games without a goal and three consecutive competitive defeats. The Croatian was only in office for seven months.

Spalletti terminated his contract as national coach five months ago. As a club coach, Spalletti was last active in the 2022/23 season, when he led SSC Napoli to their first championship title in 33 years.
