Luke Littler is the new number one in the world. By reaching the final of the Grand Slam of Darts, he dethrones Luke Humphries.
Luke Littler is the king of darts! By reaching the final of the Grand Slam of Darts against Danny Noppert (16:9), the prodigy, at 18 years and 299 days old, is the new number one in the world rankings. This dethrones Luke Humphries, who had been the world number one since his World Championship title in January 2024.
With his age, Littler is the youngest player to ever lead the PDC Order of Merit. Previously, the record was held by Michael van Gerwen at 24 years and 251 days.

“I am the best in the world”
On stage, Littler reacted to his great milestone: “I’m not even two years on the tour and now number one in the world. I am the best in the world.”
Littler and Humphries will meet on Sunday evening from 8:15 pm in the final of the Grand Slam (LIVE on SPORT1 ) for a showdown. “It’s going to be a big game,” the 18-year-old is sure.
Grand Slam of Darts: Littler Doesn’t Have to Defend Prize Money
Curious: Even if Humphries wins the final, Littler will be number one in the world. The reason for this is that the world rankings always include the prize money from the past 24 months. Humphries won the Grand Slam in 2023 and therefore has to “defend” his prize money.
Littler has only been on the PDC tour since 2024 and therefore cannot lose any prize money. Last year he won the major tournament on his premiere. The prodigy currently stands at £1,770,500, Humphries at £1,689,000.
