Orlando loses despite a season-best performance by Wagner. Dennis Schröder suffers another defeat.
The winning streak of German basketball national players Franz Wagner and Tristan da Silva with the Orlando Magic has come to a halt.
Despite a season-best performance by world and European champion Wagner with 29 points, the Magic lost to the Houston Rockets with 113:117 after overtime. For Orlando, it was the seventh defeat in this NBA season after three consecutive successes.

Franz Wagner achieves a season-best performance
Da Silva, who had moved into the starting lineup again for the injured US star Paolo Banchero, scored 13 points in a hard-fought and exciting game. The top scorer for the Rockets was the 37-year-old Kevin Durant with 35 points.
Alperen Sengun, who forced overtime with a shot 0.2 seconds before the final buzzer, scored 30. The Magic are now eleventh in the Eastern Conference with a balanced record, while the Rockets (9-3) are third in the West.
Schröder shines in defeat
Things continue to go poorly for national team captain Dennis Schröder with the Sacramento Kings. The 32-year-old lost with his team to the San Antonio Spurs with 110:123.
Schröder, who came off the bench for only the second time this season, could not prevent the Kings’ sixth defeat in a row with 22 points. The top scorer for Sacramento was DeMar DeRozan (27).
The Spurs also won without the injured top star Victor Wembanyama. De’Aaron Fox stepped into the breach for the Frenchman with 28 points. Sacramento is second to last in the West after the eleventh defeat of the season.
