Newcastle United secures a clear victory against Everton FC. Nick Woltemade joins the list of goalscorers – another DFB star even scores twice.
Nick Woltemade, in his return to the starting lineup, won 4-1 (3-0) with Newcastle United at FC Everton, scoring a remarkable goal.
The striker star scored in the 45th minute after an assist from Anthony Elanga to make it 3-0. Woltemade skillfully lobbed the ball over Everton keeper Jordan Pickford.

Lightning Goal – then comes Woltemade
The German national player Malick Thiaw had put the Magpies in the lead with a lightning goal by header (1st minute). With another header, Thiaw also scored the 4-0 (58th minute). The second Newcastle goal was scored by the 19-year-old Lewis Miley (25th minute).
An apparent Everton goal by Thierno Barry was disallowed after VAR intervention (64th minute). Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall finally scored to make it 1-4 (69th minute).
For Woltemade, it was his seventh competitive goal in his 17th game of the season. In the Champions League in the disappointing 1-2 loss against Olympique Marseille, Woltemade had initially been forced to watch. It was the first time since September 24th that the German international was not allowed to play from the start.
On Saturday, the DFB star then returned to the starting eleven – with success. In the 90th minute, Woltemade was substituted and replaced by Anthony Gordon.
Goal premiere for Thiaw
For double goal scorer Thiaw, these were the first two goals of the season and also the first in the Newcastle jersey. The defender last scored for AC Milan in the Champions League against Real Madrid on November 5, 2024.

In the table, Newcastle is in eleventh place with 18 points. Everton (equal on points) is in 14th place.
