Skier Lena Dürr is close to her first podium finish in giant slalom in Copper Mountain/USA. The 34-year-old is in an excellent fourth place after the first run of the World Cup, only 0.34 seconds behind a podium finish.

Alice Robinson from New Zealand, World Championship runner-up from Saalbach, leads ahead of Sara Hector (Sweden) and Julia Scheib. The Austrian surprisingly won the first giant slalom of the Olympic winter in Sölden.

Dürr, who recently achieved top-10 results in the slalom races of Levi (4th) and Gurgl (7th), finished 14th in Sölden. The second run starts at 9:30 PM CET (Eurosport). A slalom is scheduled for Sunday in Copper Mountain (6:00 PM and 9:00 PM/Eurosport).
