The German single mixed relay team with Marlene Fichtner and Lucas Fratzscher narrowly missed a surprise at the World Cup in Ă–stersund, Sweden.

Fichtner and Fratzscher, who are also a couple in their private life, took an impressive fourth place at the start of the Olympic winter, just 0.5 seconds behind the podium.

Biathlon: Sweden wins ahead of Norway

Final runner Fichtner ran out of strength somewhat in the final sprint. Nevertheless, the duo can be pleased with an impressive fourth place.

Victory went to the team from Sweden (0+4) ahead of Norway (0+6/+19.1 seconds) and France (1+6/37.3). The DSV duo (0+3) was 37.8 seconds behind.

“We were annoyed at first because we were so close. But we can definitely be satisfied with fourth place,” said Fratzscher on the ARD . “Great, we are happy,” added Fichtner.
