Krzysztof Ratajski spoke about a difficult time in his life after reaching the round of 16 at the Darts World Championship (from December 11 to January 3 LIVE on SPORT1 ).

In recent years, the Pole has attracted more attention for surprisingly fluctuating performances and consequently dropped out of the top 32 in the world rankings.

Darts World Championship: Ratajski talks about “difficult time”

After advancing, the 48-year-old revealed at the press conference that he had to be treated for a brain aneurysm: “Some time ago I had a health problem with my brain. That was a difficult time for me, but now everything is okay again.”

Darts star wants back into the top 32

He added: “Last year it was already better, and now I hope that I will climb back up in the rankings and everything will be fine.”

Ratajski started the World Championship as world number 37 and has already moved up three places in the live ranking. His big goal is to be back in the top 32 as quickly as possible.

Will the run against Woodhouse continue?

“Here I naturally have a very good chance. The ranking points at the World Championship are very high, which is why every match is extremely important,” the Pole clarified.

In the round of 16 on Monday, he will face Englishman Luke Woodhouse. If he beats him and reaches the quarter-finals, Ratajski will provisionally jump to 28th place in the world rankings.
