Ramos would not be allowed to play for Sevilla

Ramos is reportedly at the head of a group of investors who have expressed their interest in the record winner of the Europa League (formerly UEFA Cup). The offer is said to be known to the club’s main shareholders.

In recent weeks, there had been movement in the sale of the club, as investors from the USA were apparently surprised by Sevilla’s financial situation. As a result, the interested parties were no longer convinced and rather distanced themselves from the purchase.

This could be an opportunity for Ramos, who is familiar with such projects. He is one of the investors of San Fernando. Monchi, who has already been involved in many of FC Sevilla’s successes, is president there.

Interesting side note: Should Ramos actually join Sevilla, he would no longer be able to play in the Spanish LaLiga. This is stipulated by the association’s so-called “Anti-Piqué Law”. Former Barca player Gerard Piqué was once involved in the awarding of the Spanish Super Cup to Saudi Arabia – similar influence is no longer permitted since then.

Ramos was most recently under contract with CF Monterrey in Mexico.
