FA Cup: Wirtz missing from Liverpool’s starting XI

Liverpool coach Arne Slot comments on the difficulties experienced by former Bundesliga professionals Hugo Ekitiké, Jeremie Frimpong and Florian Wirtz in adapting to the English Premier League.

Arne Slot is initially without Florian Wirtz in the FA Cup. An ex-Eintracht star is also missing from Liverpool’s starting eleven.

Florian Wirtz will initially have to watch from the sidelines in the FA Cup. The German international is missing from the Reds’ starting lineup for the cup match between FC Liverpool and FC Barnsley.

After six consecutive starts, Wirtz is on the bench for the first time. The in-form Hugo Ekitiké is also not in Arne Slot’s starting eleven.

Liverpool FC: Wirtz in rising form

In the last cup match, the 0-3 defeat in the EFL Trophy against Crystal Palace, Wirtz was not even in the squad.

Recently, the German has increasingly found his form and scored his first two Premier League goals against Wolverhampton Wanderers (2-1) and FC Fulham (2-2).
