Bad surprise for PSG
Paris Saint-Germain is eliminated from the Coupe de France. The Champions League winner experiences a nasty surprise against his local rival.
The star-studded and success-accustomed squad of Paris Saint-Germain spectacularly failed in the Coupe de France – and that against local rivals FC Paris.
The Champions League winner lost 0:1 (0:0) in the round of 32 at the Parc des Princes. Eight days earlier, PSG had prevailed in a league match against their neighbors, whose stadium is only 44 meters away as the crow flies.

PSG: Dembelé and Doué cannot prevent defeat
This time, the “small” Parisian club had the better end for itself thanks to Jonathanikon (74th minute). In the second half, world-class footballers Ousmane Dembelé and Desiré Doué, among others, were subbed in for PSG, but even the stars could not create any scoring chances.
In the past two years, PSG had still won the cup. On Monday evening, however, came the surprising defeat against their city rival. The French newspaper L’Equipe wrote of a “thunderclap.”
