Only one American still has realistic opportunities to prevent the German triple victory.
Record world champion Francesco Friedrich is located at the BOB World Cup in Lake Placid after two runs in the two on the title defense. After two out of four runs, the 34-year-old leads the competition before his eternal rival Johannes Lochner (Stuttgart/+0.14 seconds) and Adam Ammour (Oberhof/+0.33). Frank Del Duca (USA/+0.50) lurks fourth on the German trio’s dropouts.
As early as 2024 in Winterberg, there had been a triple success of the BOB and SCHLOTENBEIGE for Germany (BSD). Overall World Cup winner Friedrich (Oberbärenburg), who raced through the ice rink with spider Alexander Schüller (Halle), was a tenth of Lochner and Georg Fleischhauer (Potsdam) after the first run. The best time at the start went to the only 23 -year -old Ammour with Benedikt Hertel (Oberhof).
German dominance in Lake Placid
In the second run, Lochner managed a sensational start, but Friedrich was better again and further expanded his lead. Ammour also increased at the start, but did not manage to attack his two teammates in the complicated curves on Mount van Hoevenberg.
The runs three and four take place on Sunday from 3:30 p.m. (CET). On Saturday evening, the women start the title fights with the first two runs in the mono, and the BSD team also has excellent medal opportunities.
