Franziska Preuß starts the persecution of Nove Mesto very nervously, but then operates damage limitation. Nevertheless, her yellow jersey is more and more in danger.
The dream of the overall World Cup victory is acutely in danger for biathlete Franziska Preuss. At the chasing race over 10 km in the Czech Nove Mesto, the 30-year-old only finished 13th after three shooting errors (+1: 48.6 minutes), the gap to her worst competitor Lou JeanMonnot melted to 36 points. The French woman took fourth place on Saturday.
The best DSV athlete Selina Grotian finished fifth (+24.1 seconds) and fought for the podium to the end. “It’s just going on at the shooting range, Nove Mesto is my favorite place,” said Grotian of the ARD : “I approached relaxed and tried to catch up.”
Prussia, on the other hand, had started nervously, had already shot three mistakes in the first round and fell far back. Then she remained flawless and fought.
JeanMonnot was more than halving her gap to Prussia, before the World Cup start she was 92 points behind the persecution world champion.
Simon wins – Tannheimer among the top 20
Meanwhile, the second victory this season secured French single world champion Julia Simon in front of Swede Hanna Öberg (+17.2 seconds).
For the DSV ski hunters, Julia Tannheimer took the last place in the top 20 (3 shooting errors/ +2: 19.1 minutes), which Sophia Schneider narrowly missed as 22. (3/ +2: 22.1). Johanna Puff (3/ +4: 23.9) was 49, Marlene Fichtner landed two places behind (2/ +4: 47.3).
Previously, the DSV men had disappointed again in the same discipline over 12.5 km. After repeatedly weak shooting performance and physical problems in sunshine and spring -like 16 degrees, only Philipp Horn made it to the top 20.
