Ten years ago, Ante Budimir was still lucky at FC St. Pauli. Now he travels to FC Barcelona as a freshly chosen record goal scorer in Spain.

Fans of FC St. Pauli is still remembered by Ante Budimir than once the second -tax transfer of club history – which was then completely lucky. Now the Croat has jumped up in Spain to the record goal scorer – and hopes to expand his balance sheet against FC Barcelona today.

Budimir writes history at Osasuna
The 33-year-old has been with the Spanish first division club Ca Osasuna since 2020, who is now guest with Barca. Budimir has established itself as a reliable goal -getter at the club from Pamplona – and also wrote club history last week.
In the game against FC Valencia, Budimir scored his 14th goal of the season and at the same time his 58th league goal. He is now in first place in the Eternal Torranking of the Osasuna player in La Liga.
Budimir, who played at eleven different clubs in four countries in the course of his career, found his luck in Spain – which he had in vain especially in St. Pauli.
No longer a role under Lienen
There he scored only one goal in the DFB Cup in 20 competitive games in the 2014/15 season. Under Ewald Lienen he lost his regular place and moved to Italy to FC Crotone.
Budimir spoke in the Mallorca Zeitung – before the time at Osasuna he was active at RCD Mallorca – of a “difficult time” that he had experienced in Hamburg.
This has been forgotten since the move to Spain: Budimir has also been a national player since 2020. At the World Cup in Qatar, in which Croatia finished third, he completed two joker inserts.
