The German snowboarders ended the World Cup season with a double victory in their “home game” in Winterberg. In the final mixed team competition, Germany 1 won with Ramona Hofmeister and Elias Huber in front of Germany 2 with Cheyenne Loch and Stefan Baumeister. “Wonderful,” said Hofmeister, who had taken second place in the final parallel slalom of winter the day before, about her seventh win of the season.

“Celebrating such a double victory is of course absolutely awesome. We are all now going to the World Cup with a good feeling,” added Hofmeister. However, “only after the World Cup”, Hofmeister’s partner Huber, who had won the first victory of his career in Val St. Come in Canada in mid -February, should be celebrated.

The World Championships in the Swiss St. Moritz will start the parallel giant slalom for the Alpine snowboarders next Thursday. The parallel slalom (Saturday) and the mixed team competition (Sunday) follow.

In the last World Cup individual race, Hofmeister had only missed the victory in the final against Sabine Payer from Austria by 0.05 seconds, but then assured: “There is no spark disappointment.” After the difficult start of the season, she “didn’t dream”, including third place in the overall World Cup. “That gives me a huge motivation boost for the World Cup!” She said.

Michael Hölz, President of Snowboard Germany, also praised the organizers in Winterberg, who, despite difficult external conditions, were able to prepare a ready -to -racing slopes. “With its infrastructure and his many helpers, Winterberg is simply a great place for such an event.”
