Ski icon will finally take place: “I have the feeling that it is over”

Therese Johaug probably ends her career

After the home World Cup, Therese Johaug makes it clear that her career is probably at the end: “I have the feeling that it is over.”

The 14-time cross-country skiing world champion Therese Johaug finally ends her career.

After the home World Cup on the legendary Holmenkollen in Oslo, the 36-year-old made it clear in an interview with the broadcaster NRK that there was only a little chance that she continued after the winter.

Johaug can no longer motivate himself

The likelihood that the end was “90 percent,” said Johaug, who celebrated her 88th World Cup victory on Saturday and ended up fifth on Sunday: “It takes a lot, very, very much to start a new season now.”

Maybe Johaug also fails for the rest of the season and take the home game at the Holmenkollen as a final point: “I have the feeling that it is over now.”

The four -time Olympic champion Johaug originally resigned in 2022 and gave birth to a daughter in 2023. With a view of the home World Cup in Trondheim, she started a comeback, she won three silver medals and bronze about the new royal discipline 50 kilometers freestyle – the missed victory nags to her, as she emphasized again in Oslo: “I did not exhaust my potential that day.”

Nevertheless, she does not seem to irritate a new attempt with a view of Olympia in Cortina d’Ampezzo in the same way.
