The European Championship starts in June – including in Hamburg.
The German basketball players test at the start of the European Championship preparation in Bamberg against the Czech Republic. The team of national coach Lisa Thomaidis welcomes the co-host of the European Championship in the Brose Arena on May 31 (6 p.m.). The title fights will be held from June 18 to 29 in Hamburg, Brno (Czech Republic), Bologna (Italy) and Piraeus (Greece).
“We are all very much looking forward to the game in Bamberg. It is an honor to play in such a basketball-crazy city like Bamberg and be part of the story,” said Thomaidis. In February, the men’s national team made their European Championship qualification perfect: “The fact that the women’s national team is now also getting the chance at this location is great enrichment and motivation.”
From June, the DBB women will play their European Championship group games in the Hamburg Inselpark Arena. In Group D, Germany then meets the four -time European champion Spain, Great Britain and Sweden.
