Barca will not return to Camp Nou until the end of the season

The legendary Camp Nou is currently being renovated

Hansi Flick’s team has to be patient with the return to their beloved home venue.

The Spanish top club FC Barcelona will play its home games at least until the end of the current season in the Olympic Stadium and will not return to Camp Nou as planned. This was confirmed by the club of the former national coach Hansi Flick of the AFP news agency. Previously, Marca had previously reported that Barca had informed his members and season ticket owners in a letter that they could extend their cards for the stadium for the remaining seasonal games.

In January, Barca, in the Champions League quarter-final opponents of Borussia Dortmund, had intended to submit a corresponding application for further use. The background is the ongoing modernization of the legendary home venue of the Catalans.

Working at Camp Nou had started in June 2023, and the planned end has been delayed again and again since then. The return was originally scheduled for November 2024, but according to Marca will no longer take place this season.

The modernization should be complete in the summer of 2026. Then the stadium is said to have a capacity of 105,000 spectators. Barca has been playing in the 1992 Olympic Games since the 2023/24 season.
