Italy’s football record champion Juventus Turin is open to a change of coach. According to the Italian newspaper Gazzetta Dello Sport, Thiago Motta is to be replaced by the former national coach Roberto Manicini, and Mancini could already sit on Juves coaching bench in the league. The 60-year-old should receive a contract with the option for an extension until the end of the season.

Those responsible for the Turiners are dissatisfied with the performance under Motta, which has been a coach since last summer. Juventus is in fifth place after 29 match days in Serie A and has to fight for the qualification for the Champions League in the race.

Mancini (60) led Italy to the European Championship title in England in 2021. In August 2023 he took over the national team of Saudi Arabia, but he received plenty of criticism. Since the premature dissolution of his contract after almost a year in the kingdom, Manicini has been without a job.
