The Imitated Jubilee of the Danish striker is not a problem for Ronaldo, but he still wants to hit back.
Football superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has calmly responded to the imitation of his own jubilation through the Danes Rasmus Höjlund. “This is not a problem for me,” said the Portuguese before reunion with Denmark on Sunday evening (8:45 p.m./DAZN). Nevertheless, he hopes for the quarter-finals in the Nations League, “that he will see my cheers,” said Ronaldo with a smile.
After the 1-0 win in the first leg on Thursday, the Danish striker celebrated in classic Cristiano-Ronaldo manner. “I didn’t do it to mock him,” Höjlund had clarified afterwards. “I play against the world’s best footballer, my idol,” emphasized the 22 -year -old at the Danish broadcaster TV2, “to meet and be the match winner – it couldn’t be better”.
Ronaldo now replied: “I knew that it was not because he has no respect for me, of course not. I am smart enough to understand that not only he, but also other athletes worldwide celebrate my cheers. For me it is an honor.”
In terms of sport, Lisbon is about moving into the final Four of the Nations League. The winner hit Germany in the semi -finals in early June when the selection of national coach Julian Nagelsmann prevails against Italy.
“I make no secret of it. We are in a tense situation because we have to win, but that’s the nice thing about football,” said Ronaldo with regard to the decisive duel and conjured up the cohesion between players and the Portuguese supporters: “I call the fans to be with us. May they give us strength because we will try to give our best.”
