Skir racers Lucas Pinheiro Braathen waves a historical success at the season finale in Sun Valley. The 24-year-old is in second place at the last giant slalom of winter after the first round and continues to have the chance to give Brazil the first World Cup victory.
Born in Norwegians, the South American country has been launching since this season and has been on the podium six times. So far it has never been enough for a win.
However, Braathen already has 0.53 seconds behind Slalom world champion Loic Meillard from Switzerland. His compatriot Marco Odermatt, winner of the overall World Cup and the departure, giant slalom and Super-G classification, became sixth in the first run (+0.98).
