The best German slalom driver is targeting the “Stockerl” in the last season race.
Skir racer Lena Dürr has another podium placement at the end of a mixed season. The 33-year-old is in the slalom at the World Cup final in Sun Valley/USA at the “half” in second place behind the outstanding ski queen Mikaela Shiffrin.
Dürr’s behind Shiffrin before the final (7 p.m.) on the “Greyhawk” slope is 0.59 seconds. The third -placed Swiss Wendy Holdener was more 0.43 seconds slower. As a tenth, Emma Aicher (+1.91 seconds) also has chances of topping.
Shiffrin is aiming for her 101st World Cup victory, the fourth in this season that is so difficult for her because of a fall and the injury suffered. “I felt good, better than expected. My skiing is very powerful, I am very happy,” she said.
For Dürr it would be the fourth “Stockerl” trip this winter after a second and two third places. Shootingstar Aicher has two victories and a second place.
There has been no decision in the fight for the small crystal ball, in which Dürr and Shiffrin can no longer intervene. The leading, Zrinka Ljutic from Croatia (515 points), occupies twelve. World champion Camille Rast (Switzerland/474) is 14th, Katharina Liensberger (Austria/464) best placed as fourth. At the final there are only 15 points, otherwise the top 30 will be rewarded.
