The deeply fallen football star Dani Alves is at large again. An appellate court in Barcelona announced on Friday that the four and a half year prison sentence against the Brazilian lifted it due to the rape of a young woman in 2022.
The condemnation of Alves’ was shaped in February 2024 was characterized by “a number of defects, inaccuracies, inconsistencies and contradictions”, the court justified in a press release. The judgment is therefore not steadfast.
Alves, who had won titles in series with FC Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain in his career, was sentenced to a prison sentence of four and a half years in February 2024. The 41-year-old was guilty by a Spanish court of raping a woman in a night club in Barcelona in December 2022. Alves had already been released against the deposit while his appointment was negotiated.
