Nations League: Hermoso again not in the Spanish contingent

In 2023, Hermoso was world champion with Spain

For the third time, Jennifer Hermoso is missing in the Spanish squad.

Jennifer Hermoso also does not return to the squad of the Spanish national soccer team for the upcoming Nation’s League duels. The world champion of 2023 is therefore missing for the third time in a row in the contingent of the Spaniards – a purely sporting decision and no “punishment”, as trainer Montse Thomas emphasized during the squadry on Friday.

The absence in the national team had recently caused many question marks. The lack of the offensive player, who regularly stands on the pitch for the Mexican Association of Tigres, was not recently attributed to her sporting performance, but in response to the kiss scandal around the ex-association chief Luis Rubiales and the subsequent process.

After the World Cup triumph in Australia, Rubiales had grabbed the head with both hands on the head and kissed it on the mouth. The scene, which was transferred worldwide on television, triggered outrage. In February, the Supreme Criminal Court took the 47-year-old with a fine of 10,800 euros, but refer him to the accusation of coercion.

The Spaniards will meet Portugal in the Nations League on April 4th and 8th.
