The Memphis Grizzlies surprisingly separate from head coach Taylor Jenkins shortly before the NBA playoffs.
Surprise in the NBA! The Memphis Grizzlies separated shortly before the playoffs from Head Coach Taylor Jenkins. This was announced by the franchise on Friday afternoon.
“I really appreciate Taylor’s contributions to this team and this city in the past six seasons,” Memphis-GM Zach Kleiman is quoted in a press release. “This was a difficult decision in view of the constant and noticeable development of our players and overall success under Taylor’s leadership. I wish Taylor only the best for the future.”
Taylor Jenkins is no longer coach of the Memphis Grizzlies
Grizzlies in a small form crisis
Jenkins has been a Grizzlies coach since 2019 – in the same season in which superstar Ja Morant was elected to the Rookie of the Year. The grizzlies had taken part in the Postseason three times under Jenkins and won a playoff series.
In the current season, the grizzlies after 73 games in the Regular Season with 44 wins and 29 defeats will be fourth in the Western Conference. Memphis is currently experiencing a small form crisis, only two of the last seven games were able to win the franchise.
