Ruben Loftus-Cheek remains followed by bad luck in a remarkable epidemic. The English football professional from AC Milan is out again.
The English football professional Ruben Loftus-Cheek (29) remains in a remarkable epidemic season. Just two weeks ago, the former national player had given his short comeback at AC Milan after a long time of suffering, on Sunday he was supposed to be in the starting eleven for the first time since the beginning of December – and was then transported to the hospital a few hours before the kick -off with appendicitis. As the club announced, Loftus-Cheek was operated against SSC Naples (8:45 p.m./DAZN) before the top game on Sunday evening.
Loftus-Cheek suddenly complained about “serious abdominal pain”, the inflamed appendix then had to be removed. According to media reports, the symptoms appeared in the team hotel in Naples on Sunday night.
Loftus-Cheek only two weeks ago with comeback
The midfielder missed numerous games this season due to various muscular problems and an adductor injury and only played 22 missions across competitions, usually not over the full distance. Two weeks ago, Loftus-Cheek celebrated his comeback in the 2-1 home win against Como and was on the lawn for twelve minutes. Now the 29-year-old fails again.
Milan has to worry about the qualification for international competitions this season, before which duel in Naples is the gap to the Champions League ranks of the series A nine points.
