After the exhausting winter months, Franziska Preuss is finally the order of the day. After securing the victory in the overall World Cup in the last race of the season, she plans a two -week trip into the distance.
For Prussia and her friend, the ex-biathlete Simon Schempp, it should go to Thailand. Recently there were strong earthquakes there and in Myanmar that could thwart their plans. Does the biathlon queen have to cancel her vacation? The 31 -year -old clarified in the Spotlight Spotlight .

“Fortunately, the region to which we want to travel is not affected. Hopefully it stays that way. We can fly. We are of course watching the situation and waiting, but I’m optimistic at first,” said Preuss.
So nothing stands in the way of a break from competitive sports. What is she particularly looking forward to during this time? “That you don’t have to talk about biathlon,” said Preuss.
Prussian wants to save the new season with full savings
For her at your age, it no longer makes a difference whether she can train two or three weeks less: “You have such a good basis, so it is more important that you are fresh and all memory are full again.”
Even after the vacation, she wanted to take a little break from the biathlon. She had already told the coaches before the final race: “Nobody will see me in the biathlon stadium in early May.”
Nevertheless, Preuss will still work to win a (gold) medal at the Olympic Games in February 2026 next year. But first she wants to recover from the current season and know nothing about the biathlon.
