The Germans around Skip Marc Muskatewitz missed a surprise

At the World Cup in Canada, the German curlers narrowly miss a surprise against leader China.

After the redeeming first victory, the German Curler barely missed a surprise at the World Cup in Canada. The team led by Skip Marc Muskatewitz were defeated in the fifth tournament game 10:11 in the night of Tuesday.

With a 1: 4 balance, the European champion in the table is only tenth under 13 teams, only Japan (1: 4), Austria and South Korea (0: 5 each) are behind it. The qualification for the Olympic Games is in danger, seven places are awarded in Moose Jaw.

German curler fight for Olympics

After defeats against Canada, the Czech Republic and Norway, the selection of the German Curling Association (DCV) on Monday was beaten. It continues with the pioneering duels against South Korea (10 p.m. CEST) and Japan (Wednesday, 3 a.m.).

The DCV team, fifth of the World Cup from 2024, is fighting for his first Olympic participation since Sochi 2014. If the direct ticket to Milan/Cortina does not work, there will be another chance in Kelowna, Canada. Two additional starting places are played there.
