Unveiled: Erling Haaland fails for Manchester City for that long

Manchester City has to do longer without his star striker Erling Haaland. Trainer Pep Guardiola announced details at a press conference.

Manchester City paid expensive to get in the FA Cup. Star striker Erling Haaland suffered an ankle injury at the 2-1 in the quarter-finals over Bournemouth. Now City coach Pep Guardiola announced how long the Norwegian will not be available.

“The doctors told me that Erling Haaland will be canceled between five and seven weeks,” said the Spaniard. Before that, the club had only let that Haaland, who had left the Vitality Stadium in Bournemouth on crutches, would be missing for a few weeks.

Haaland Fit for club World Cup?

Haaland would possibly miss a possible final in the FA Cup. On the last matchday of the Premier League, however, he could be fit again – and then probably also participate in the club World Cup.

Due to the failure of Haaland, wintry access Omar Marmoush will continue to focus. The Egyptian, who came from Eintracht Frankfurt, already scored the winning goal in Bournemouth and thus scored five goals in eight missions.

“We will find a solution with the players we have,” added Guardiola: “They all have different skills and qualities. We will have another [striker].”

Before the game against Leicester City on Wednesday, Mancity is fifth in the Premier League. The gap to Chelsea FC in fourth place is only one point.
