The betting frame in Italian football draws further circles. According to the news agencies Ansa and Agi, the Milan public prosecutor has started new investigations against twelve current and former series of Serie A in connection with bets on presumably illegal platforms.

In a statement published on Friday morning, the Milan public prosecutor announced that they had “organized and managed and managed the illegal platforms from a jewelry shop in the city,” because of illegal gambling activities and money laundering “under house arrest. For this purpose, 1.5 million euros were confiscated.

The footballers are not among the arrested. They are accused of playing on illegal betting and poker platforms between December 2021 and October 2023 and having advertised them for other footballers. The focus is on poker games and bets on sports events – but not on football games – on forbidden gambling platforms. The footballers threatened a fine and disciplinary proceedings by the Italian Football Association (FIGC).

Most recently, the Italian national players Sandro Tonali from Newcastle United and Nicolò Fagioli (Florence) had already served locks for illegal betting. Tonali had already been sentenced to a ten -month lock by the Italian Football Association by the Italian Football Association for its involvement in a betting scandal, and he also had to undergo therapy for eight months. He had admitted that he had bet on games of his own team at AC Milan.

Last May, Tonali was sentenced to a two -month lock for probation and a fine of £ 20,000 (23,400 euros) for illegal bets in Great Britain.
