Transfers at Liverpool FC? Van Dijk expects “big summer”

The defense chief talks about his title dreams and the transfer summer. He himself is about to extend the contract.

Virgil van Dijk expects a clear signal from the English football top club FC Liverpool on the transfer market. “I think it will be a big summer. We all have to trust the board that he will do the right work,” said the Dutch central defender, who, according to media reports, is about to extend the contract with the Reds.

“I love the club, that is quite obvious,” said the 33-year-old with a view to his future: “I think you can see that in the way I talk about the club, in the way I work for the club, in relation to what I do on the field and outside of the field, and it will always stay that way.” According to reports, the extension by two years is said to be announced this week, most recently attacker Mohamed Salah had also signed a new contract.

After a rather quiet transfer window in the previous year, when only striker Federico Chiesa was hired, van Dijk assumes that those responsible are planning “a big summer”. “We can improve 100 percent. We should not forget what quality the Premier League has, especially this season,” he emphasized: “I think Liverpool can play for titles regularly in the coming years.”

Liverpool leads the Premier League six game days before the end of the season with a 13 -point lead on FC Arsenal, the Reds are about to win the 20th championship in the club’s history.
