NBA: Bitter playoff start for Wagner

Franz Wagner convinces at the start of the playoffs. But the world champion cannot prevent defeat against defending champion Boston Celtics.

The strong world champion Franz Wagner has meanwhile faltered with the Orlando Magic at the start of the NBA playoff’s defending champion Boston Celtics, but in the end they have to take a clear 86:10 bankruptcy.

At the break, the Magic just led one point, but after six gymnastics in the third quarter, Boston heralded the turn. “We stagnated and they got simple threesome,” said Wagner afterwards. “It’s just a game. It’s about whoever wins four first.”

Wagner and Banchero protrude out

Wagner was the second best thrower of his team with 23 points behind his team -mate Paolo Banchero (36 points). In total, the duo was involved in 44 of the 49 points of the guests in the first half.

“Game is one, these are the nerves. The audience was loud, really loud,” said Banchero. “To be honest, it was not a complete surprise that we had to fight a bit on the offensive.”
