His players emphasize the calm and serenity of the ex-Gladbacher.

The former Bremen Bundesliga professional Ilja Grujew sees the main reason for the rise of Leeds United in the Premier League in the calm and serenity of his team manager Daniel Farke. “His greatest strength is that he has remained calm if the results were not optimal for a week or two,” said Grujew about Borussia Mönchengladbach’s ex-coach and added: “We played a dominant and convincing football over a very large part of the season. Our trainer Daniel Farke definitely has a very large part in that.”

Leeds had done the return to the Premier League perfectly on Easter Monday. As the second coach at all, Farke will rise in England’s elite league for the third time, entering the footsteps of coaching icon Neil Warnock. Farke had already led Norwich City up in 2019 and 2021.

However, a difficult season could wait for Leeds. The three last year’s promoters most likely all descend again. “With the whole power that Leeds United has, we are certainly not a very ordinary climber. We naturally want to establish ourselves in the Premier League. For me it is the best league in the world – to play there, I am changing here. I’m already looking forward to the duel against Liverpool, Arsenal and Co.,” said Gruev.
