Biathlon world champion Elvira Öberg has had one season with heights, but also deep. On a trip into the sun, she is distance.
Elvira Öberg had imagined the past World Cup winter differently. The Swedes went into the race as one of the overall World Cup favorites. But many failures braked the biathlete.
Öberg threw many health problems back, with a surprising compensation at the World Cup: the younger sister of Elvira Öberg won gold in the mass start. Now Öberg – like many other biathlon colleagues – has left her turbulent winter with a dream vacation.
Elvira Öberg discovers Gran Canaria
The Swede published pictures from her trip to Gran Canaria during the week on Instagram. Öberg not only relaxed on the beach, she also went on a trip to the Maspalomas desert. The sand landscape is a little more than 400 hectares in size and has been a nature reserve since 1994.
There were already summer temperatures of 27 degrees on the Canary Island during the visit to Öberg. In order to recharge the sun, her colleagues like Franziska Preuss took another way. Prussia traveled to Thailand.
In any case, Öberg was totally satisfied after the vacation. “A week with a little sun and the heat was good,” she wrote. The 26-year-old had absolutely necessary the time to relax.
