Ski star reports back to horror crash

Snowboard sport loses one of its biggest stars. The Austrian Daniela Ulbing ends her career due to motivation problems.

Cyprien Sarrazin is a real standing man. Just a few months after his life -threatening fall, the French ski star is on the way back – and lets his fans dream.

It was terrifying pictures in the past World Cup winter when Cyprien Sarrazin fell heavily in training before Bormio departed and had to be removed with the helicopter.

The life -threatening Frenchman had to be operated immediately due to brain bleeding and put it into an artificial coma.

It is all the more unbelievable the way the alpine star has completed since the horror crash. The 30 -year -old regularly keeps his fans up to date with videos and lyrics – and only amazes his followers as quickly how quickly it goes forward in rehab.

“Back in the game. That feels really good. I take the feeling and the intensity step by step,” he recently said, and presented his fitness with a picture of the ergometer and a training session on the tartan track and in the sand. Sarrazin seems amazingly agile again.

Sarrazin looks back on moving time: “Not always easy to live with the scar”

In his latest post, Sarrazin shared a short video that shows his interaction with the doctors. “The path we have moved since is huge and I’m really happy about it,” he said happy.

However, the ski star also looked at the difficult moments that he had to survive since his fall. “It all started with emergency operation, because of a great hematoma. Complications should be avoided,” said the speed specialist.

“28 days later I slowly started rehab. My body had initially sat down in protective mode and the pain later came: knee excuses, sensitive ankles,” he looked back. In a neuro check, he then realized “how good luck” he was. “It was not always easy to live with the scar, but today I feel better,” he said.

After his fall, it was still a priority for Sarrazin to return to normal life step by step, but about two months ago he underlined his hope of returning to the Ski World Cup: “I am a bit surprised that I recovered so well and quickly.”

He had “no neurological damage”, which was particularly thanks to the rapid emergency surgery. “I became aware that I was not far away from not being there anymore, so no matter what happens, only positive,” he made it clear.

Sarrazin hopes for comeback: breakthrough only a year and a half ago

The further development will have to show whether Sarrazin can be there again in the coming Olympic season.

The French did the very big breakthrough only in the 2023/24 season, before he had taken psychological help – although, among other things, it turned out that he suffered from the “high -stapler syndrome”.

After successful therapy, he reaches four World Cup victories and second place in the World Cup. The 2024/25 season then ended an early end in view of the fatal fall.
