The Löwen Braunschweig’s Spanish head coach wins the election by narrow ahead.
Head coach Jesus Ramirez from the Löwen Braunschweig has won the election as coach of the year in the Basketball Bundesliga. In the vote, the Spaniard was just a 30.6 percent just ahead of Danny Jansson (MLP Academics Heidelberg/27.8), and Janis Gailitis (Syngainics MBC/18.1) was third.
Before the final spurt, the Braunschweigen, which Ramirez has been training since 2021, will be the first jump to the play-offs since 2019. In the election, the captains and assistant coaches of the 17 clubs as well as selected media representatives and former BBL professionals vote. Rodrigo Pastore from the Niners Chemnitz had won the award last year.
