Back to old roots! Frank “Buschi” Buschmann will comment on the games of the German national basketball team at the Eurobaskets 2025 for RTL in August and September. The TV station announced this on Wednesday.
“Buschi is more than a commentator – he is an uncompromising primeval power, for all projects he takes over for RTL ,” said Inga Leschek, Chief Content Officer RTL Germany.

At that time the European Championship took place in Turkey and a trip with the DBB started for him. “Back then with the young Dirk Nowitzki, whose star really rose,” Buschmann recalled. Now stars such as Dennis Schröder and Franz Wagner are on the court.
Commentator with Sport1 past
As early as the home European Championships 2023, Buschmann was able to comment on three games of the German team for RTL .
Basketball is the sport with which he grew up and played actively. He also worked as a commentator for Sport1 for many years in countless basketball games.
The 60-year-old will have his first assignment at Eurobaskets on August 27 when the DBB team meets Montenegro. The tournament will take place in Latvia, Finland, Cyprus and Poland until September 14th.
