FC Barcelona has to do without striker Ferran Torres in the season finale. The Spaniard already underwent an emergency surgery.
Bad news for Hansi Flick: As FC Barcelona announced late Wednesday evening, striker Ferran Torres had to undergo an emergency surgery because of appendicitis.
The Spaniard successfully survived the surgery, but is therefore canceled for the season finale. On Wednesday morning he still took part in the training.
Lewandowski challenged
In the final three league games, Barca head coach Hansi Flick will have to build on other staff in attack. Robert Lewandowski, who last had to pause due to a thigh injury, is likely to play Torres’ role in the storm.
Already on Thursday evening, the Catalans can make the Spanish championship clear with a victory at City Rival Espanyol.
Torres will not be available for the Nation’s League games in June either. Spain meets France in the semi-finals of the Final Four tournament, which is held in Stuttgart and Munich.
