For World Cup qualification: Messi back in the Argentine squad

Superstar Lionel Messi returns to the line-up of the Argentine national soccer team after his muscle injury. The 37-year-old from US Club Inter Miami is in the provisional squad for the upcoming World Cup qualification games, as the Argentine Association AFA announced on Thursday. The captain missed the two qualifiers against Uruguay and Brazil in March due to addiction complaints.

The reigning world champion Argentina will play in Chile on June 5 and on June 10th against Colombia. As the first table in South America, the Albiceleste for the final round in 2026 in the USA, Kanda and Mexico is already qualified.

After the games in the World Cup qualifier, Messi is on the program for Messi. In the opening game on June 14th (local time), the former world football player with Miami meets Egyptian representative Al Ahl.
