Carlo Ancelotti has revealed that Xabi Alonso will be his successor at Real Madrid.
After his own departure from Los Blancos was officially announced on Friday, the Italian was asked at the press conference for his advice to the future Real coach – and revealed the name.
“Xabi Alonso will be the first, and I wish him all the luck in the world. He has the quality to coach Real Madrid,” said Ancelotti, advising Alonso: “Enjoy Real Madrid. He should enjoy it, that’s my opinion.”
Ancelotti Reveals His Successor at Real Madrid
Ancelotti is preempting his club, because although it has long been expected that Alonso will take over at Los Blancos after his departure from Bayer Leverkusen is confirmed, it has not been officially confirmed.
Ancelotti, in turn, explained on Friday that he was going to Brazil as national coach “so as not to betray Madrid with another club.”

Alonso returns to his former club, with whom he once won the Champions League as a player, among other things, and succeeds Ancelotti, who is leaving the club after a titleless season. Xabi Alonso Already at Real Madrid on Monday?
According to media reports, Alonso is to be presented at Real as early as Monday and start work immediately, writes the Spanish Marca, among others.
The Basque will arrive at the club’s training ground in the morning. His Italian predecessor is to sign his contract in Brazil only hours later.
Alonso will lead the Royals to the Club World Cup in the USA, where a major challenge awaits with the new tournament. The first Real game there will take place on June 18, the opponent is Al-Hilal.
