Bei einer Sakroiliitis handelt es sich um eine Entzündung des Iliosakralgelenks, das zwischen Kreuz- und Darmbein liegt. Eine solche Entzündung führt zu Schmerzen im Rücken, im Gesäß oder den Oberschenkeln.

Nach Vereinsangaben ist die genaue Ausfallzeit noch nicht bekannt, die weitere Entwicklung müsse abgewartet werden.

Während Real bei der Klub-WM erst am 18. Juni gegen Al-Hilal antritt, ist die belgische Nationalmannschaft zuvor bei der WM-Qualifikation gefordert – zunächst in Mazedonien (6. Juni), dann gegen Wales (9. Juni).
Dass Courtois, der im März zur Nationalmannschaft zurückgekehrt war, bis dahin wieder fit ist, ist höchst unwahrscheinlich.

Sacroiliitis is an inflammation of the sacroiliac joint, which lies between the sacrum and the ilium. Such inflammation leads to pain in the back, buttocks, or thighs.
